The Hamaguchi Apps for Speech, Language & Auditory Development presents an innovative iPad application aimed at supporting elementary to high school students in understanding the nuances of communication. This app focuses on vital skills such as interpreting vocal intonation, facial expressions, body language, and idiomatic expressions. Unlike traditional methods that rely on worksheets and static flashcards, this dynamic tool incorporates real photographs, real voices, and short video clips of various social scenarios to enhance learning.

The Body Language activity features engaging scenes from everyday settings, including a restaurant, school, park, and several home environments, enhancing the relevancy of the material.

The app is designed with American cultural elements in mind and serves as a companion to the previously released *Between the Lines Level 1*, sharing similar activities but offering distinct content for continued educational engagement. Most activities maintain an equivalent level of difficulty, while some introduce slightly more advanced challenges.

There are three key activities within this app, comprising a total of 199 tasks:

1. Listening: Users hear a sentence, such as "I got an A on my Spelling test!" followed by the question, "Who said it?" They then choose the appropriate facial expression from a series of photographs based on the voice they heard.
2. Body Language: Short video clips depict interactions or scenarios. For instance, a teenage girl negotiating a sleepover puts her mother’s trust to the test through visual cues. Users must interpret these cues and select the response that accurately reflects the depicted body language.
3. Expressions: This activity presents idiomatic expressions in context. For example, users hear "They caught the burglar red-handed," followed by a question prompting them to interpret its meaning.

The application supports up to 75 users, allowing for both individual and group play. Performance metrics are reported for each participant across all activities. Customizable settings grant users control over activity selection, order, visual prompts, and progress tracking options.

Additionally, the app injects an element of fun through reward animations such as Dunk Tank and Bull’s Eye (darts). These light-hearted diversions are designed to enhance user engagement rather than skill-based competition.

Users can easily save, print, or email their performance data. Customer support is readily available for any technical issues encountered during use.

PRIVACY POLICY: The app does not collect personal data from users and contains no advertisements. All performance data remains self-contained unless user-initiated sharing occurs. There are no in-app purchases involved.
